1. Install MetaMask & Create a Wallet

1-1. Add MetaMask to Your Browser

Browser	Extension Store Link
Chrome / Brave / Edge	https://metamask.io/download → Install MetaMask for Chrome
Firefox	Same page → Install MetaMask for Firefox
iOS / Android	Search MetaMask in the App Store / Google Play

Security Tip: Always verify the URL and the publisher to avoid phishing copies.

1-2. Launch MetaMask & Create a New Wallet

1. Click the fox icon in your browser toolbar.

2. Choose Get Started → Create a Wallet.

3. Set a strong password and accept the Terms.

4. Secret Recovery Phrase (12 words):

   • Write it down on paper.

   • Never share it.

   • Never store it online.

5. Pass the phrase confirmation test.

6. Your wallet address (0x…) appears—setup complete!

1-3. (Optional) Add the Fantom Network to MetaMask

Settings → Networks → Add Network → enter:

2. Use Fantom fWallet (Web Wallet)

2-1. Open the Official Site

https://fwallet.fantom.network/ (Ensure the domain ends with .fantom.network.)

2-2. Create a New Wallet

1. Click Create New Wallet.

2. Enter a strong password → Continue.

3. Write down the 24-word seed phrase.

4. Complete the word-order confirmation.

5. Download the Keystore JSON backup file.

6. Click Open Wallet → Keystore File, select the JSON, enter your password, and log in.

2-3. Test a Small Deposit

1. Copy your account address (shown under Account #1).

2. Send a small amount of FTM from an exchange or another wallet.

3. Click the TxHash to view details on https://ftmscan.com.

3. Security & Backup Best Practices

Goal	Recommended Action
Protect recovery phrase	Store it offline in two or more separate locations (e.g., two fire-safe boxes).
Protect Keystore file	Keep it on an encrypted USB/SSD; never in cloud storage.
Avoid phishing	Manually type URLs, double-check SSL certificates, ignore unsolicited links.
Large holdings	Use a hardware wallet (Ledger, Trezor) connected to MetaMask or fWallet.
